December 2004 - We learned that Famous Players will not be carrying
fur advertisements this year, congratulations Skinned!

Day of Action, August 12th - A full day of demonstrations,
we visited the Market on Yates for a 'Vegan' and 'Missing Charlie'
demo, Petcetera on Tillicum for an Iams demo, we held signs outside
the KFC on Douglas, and visited Famous Players on Yates that evening.

Let Crystal Garden Close! Activists held signs outside Crystal
Garden encouraging people to think about the limited lives that the
creatures in Crystal Garden live in captivity. Our suggestion is to
move the animals to appropriate sanctuaries, rather than living in
this zoo. More on our position available here.
UPDATE: Crystal Gardens was closed.
- Iams Cruelty - Holly Fraser from PETA was in town, and we had
a video display and handed out leaflets depicting the conditions of

Ember Swift @ Steamers, Oct 24th - we had an information table

Fur Appearing in Victoria - Oct 12th, 19th & 26th, Nov
9th & 12th, after protesting Famous Players, we hit a few other
stores in Victoria (Nushin, W&J
Wilson, The Bay, Collections and
Sunday's Snowflake.) UPDATE: W&J Wilson have removed the
fur from their store, and have promised not to sell any more fur!

Thanksgiving is Murder on Turkeys!, Oct 11th -
we held signs that read GOBBLE VEGGIES NOT TURKEYS, pictures to be
posted soon.

Thanksgiving with the Mad Cowboy, Oct 8th - Howard
Lyman was in town, and we had
a table for this event.

KFC Cruelty, Oct 5th & Oct 18th - Protested outside the
KFC on Hillside, or Douglas.

World Farmed Animals Day 2003, Oct 2nd - 8 people made it out,
where we held out demo outside McDonald's, in downtown Victoria.

We've been leafletting outside, March 29th and April 6th, 13th,
19th, 20th, 27th, May 4th, 18th, 25th, June 15th, Oct 12th & 19th,
Nov 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, and Dec 7th, with more dates
to come! We're protesting Famous Players because of the Pappa's
Furs ads they've
been promoting. Click

Downtown Carriage Horses, May 17th - we meet at Belleville
and Menzies to disuade tourists from supporting this cruel 'attraction',
letting them know how hard it is for their hooves, breathing in polluted
air forced to pull tourists in the heat, cold or rain. Horses
and traffic don't mix!

McDonald's - April 16th three activists held signs and handed
out leaflets for two hours outside the McDonald's downtown.

It's A Good Thing Animals Don't Care About Fashion! - Feb 15th

Give A Cluck demo, January 11th, 2003, outside the (former)
KFC location downtown Victoria, over 576 million chickens are raised
and killed for food in Canada each year. A second KFC demo was organized
by Holly Fraser from PETA on April 10th.
