ARK II Canadian Animal Rights Network (founded in 1984 in Toronto, Ontario) is a non-profit grassroots organization comprised of individuals who support and contribute to human, animal, and environmental liberation movements. We acknowledge that we are settlers occupying land that belongs to First Nations and fully support Indigenous Sovereignty.
ARK II is committed to understanding and dismantling individual power and privileges through direct action, political action and public awareness campaigns. Together, we strive to build a world where earth, animal, and human liberation become one in a fabric of mutual respect, tolerance and compassion.
ARK II's current campaign is food justice related - Toronto Burrito Project was launched in June 2015.
Toronto Burrito Project (TBP) involves direct grassroots action and face-to-face participation with members of our community who are underfed and/or underhoused. We recognize that the food system is unjust and that this is not a long term solution. Our work will also include direct grassroots activism through deputations and activities on a municipal and provincial level.
The goal is to participate in and support existing projects to reach these goals, as well as initiating further activities and inviting interested people to participate in the Burrito Project and our political activities.
