Quite simply, hunting is environmental manipulation and abuse of nature for an outdated cruel blood sport that has no place in a civilized society!
HUNTING IS NOT CONSERVATION
- Animal populations are naturally balanced by disease, predation, habitat and food abundance; this natural process, while at times perceived to be harsh, has provided great diversity and maintained strong gene pools for millions of years.
- While some hunters are well-intentioned and honestly concerned with conservation issues, there is a total disconnect between even the best hunting practices and real conservation.
- Hunting typically targets the strongest, largest or oldest of the target species, not the diseased, weak or dying animals, thereby having no beneficial effect on the natural process and, furthermore, by taking the stronger animals hunters are actually helping to weaken the gene pool.
- To maintain their existence, hunting groups, businesses and related government bodies actually work integrally to manipulate the environment, predators and food sources to increase the numbers of targeted animals to the detriment of the natural balance and again, real conservation – forests and fields are managed to provide new growth for deer, predators of target species are unfairly, inhumanely and unnecessarily killed – even though these predators truly do prey on the weak and sick animals – and even supplemental food sources are provided, all negatively affecting the natural process solely for their own killing sport while masquerading as conservation!
- Hunting typically targets more males than females, thereby doing nothing to prevent overpopulation and, once again, ensuring that the gene pool is weakened.
- Despite its well-funded and well-established conservation propaganda campaign, in no way can hunting be honestly viewed as part of any conservation process.
HUNTING IS A CRUEL & COWARDLY BLOODSPORT
- Animals are routinely inhumanely killed or injured to die a painful lingering death.
- Even if hunting was not counterproductive to conservation, killing should not be carried out with pride and promoted so intensely for fun and profit; hunting is promoted as and is carried out as a recreational past time – worse still, the act of killing is used to enrich father-son or friends relationships but is really the indoctrination into an unnecessary violent bloodsport supporting the development of cowardice and sociopathic behaviour.
- Hunting groups, businesses and publications promote war-like stealth and predation all centred around killing an innocent animal simply for their own enjoyment – an exhibition of sociopathic behaviour.
- In addition to artificially manipulating animal populations and worsening the natural process, hunting further contributes to environmental degradation through the use and dispersal of ammunition into the environment, access through pristine environments as well as the wasted use of resources for the manufacturing and use of firearms, hunting accessories and ATV and SUV vehicles.
